Learning from Leaders: Watch my conversation with Microsoft's CMO...
I wanted to share a special update today. We'll be back to our regularly scheduled newsletters this weekend.
---
I have a reputation for being an “unapologetic truth-teller” in the world of business, and the truth of our digital age is that change is the only constant.
Every function in the business is redefining its norms to keep pace with technology and shifting consumer behaviors. It’s an exciting, and breathtaking time to be leading a business.
Recently, I was struck by the words of Microsoft’s leader, CEO Satya Nadella, who said, “Don’t be a know-it-all. Be a learn-it-all.”
It revealed Nadella’s new leadership outlook for Microsoft (no pun intended), emphasizing a culture based in curiosity, experimentation, and the pursuit of continuous learning. It made me wonder:
What does leadership look like in the digital age?
That’s the subject I’m hoping to explore in Learning from Leaders, a new video series in collaboration with Microsoft US. Our first episode is live - I had the opportunity to visit Seattle to sit down with Valerie Beaulieu, Microsoft US CMO and GM.
As she's had the chance to speak with marketing leaders across the country, I asked what was challenging these B2B CMOs most, today:
1. Customer expectations shaped by their consumer experiences
2. Board pressure to understand the path to growth
3. Embracing modern marketing across the team.
Don't miss our full conversation here, and in future editions of The World's Best Newsletter, I'll share more in-depth conversations with executives like Yvette White of Microsoft and Nick Ragone of Ascension.
Trust me, you don't want to miss their advice.
Watch this space,
Katie
