1. The great CMWorld Troll of 2016, and what it means for our industry.
Someone trolled Content Marketing World on Twitter... and it made me think that maybe as an industry, we have a lot of reconciliation to do between the hype and the reality of our profession.
This one is fresh off the presses. Read it and give me your take on the matter.
2. Marketers f*cking up on 9/11
This is why we can't have nice things.
3. Tim Gunn: Designers refuse to make clothes to fit American women.
I am LIVING for Tim Gunn's op-ed to designers in the fashion industry.
"Far more women in this country wear a size 16 than a size 6.
There are 100 million plus-size women in America, and, for the past three years, they have increased their spending on clothes faster than their straight-size counterparts. There is money to be made here ($20.4 billion, up 17 percent from 2013).
But many designers — dripping with disdain, lacking imagination or simply too cowardly to take a risk — still refuse to make clothes for them."

4. Apple messed up the iPhone7 release and Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave.
OK, BESIDES the reality of what those ridiculous AirBuds look like....
...perhaps the most egregious blunder of the iPhone7 launch was the trigger-finger that tweeted about the launch too early...!! Every PR person reading this is sweating a little bit.
YOU. DO. NOT. F*CK. OVER. THE. TECH. BLOGGERS!!!
Apple usually has such a tight process around their launches, precision-timing, amazing rumor mill and ability to keep certain things under wraps that this, at least from the perspective of a comms girl like me, was shocking. Oops.
5. There is no monopoly on talent, hutzpah, perseverance or excellence.
A touching - and honest post from Denice Sakakeeny about the startup community in Boston.
6. Quote of the week
Comes this week from Ogilvy
"Big ideas come from the unconscious. This is true in art, in science, and in advertising. But your unconscious has to be well informed, or your idea will be irrelevant. Stuff your conscious mind with information, then unhook your rational thought process. You can help this process by going for a long walk, or taking a hot bath, or drinking half a pint of claret. Suddenly, if the telephone line from your unconscious is open, a big idea wells up within you."
Let's all have few glasses of Bordeaux for our friend, Ogilvy tonight.
Cheers!
